Kennett Square >> Two long-time businesses were honored by Kennett Square Mayor Matt Fetick Monday night.

Burton’s Barber shop, which has been in operation for more than 125 years, and Torelli’s Custom Shop, both located on East State Street, earned accolades.

Dave Torelli, owner of Torelli’s Custom Shop, accepted the mayoral citation. His grandfather started the business in Prospect Park in 1908 and he moved it to Kennett Square in 1979. And Bob Burton accepted the citation for Barton’s Barber shop. Burton’s Barber Shop recently marked its 125th year in business.

“They are great supporters of the borough,” Fetick said.
