KENNETT SQUARE>>Local Girl Scouts from Cadette Troop 492, Brandywine Valley Service Unit, volunteered to take on the Baby Bundle Community Service Project. Stationed at Kennett Square CVS and Walgreen stores, the Girl Scouts from Patton Middle School, were overwhelmed with donations from the community. In addition, Troop 492 collected items at several Girl Scout Service Unit events including the Ice Cream Social, Daisy Days and Gymnastics for Girl Scouts. Donations soared to over 1500 packages of diapers, thousands of wipes, as well as receiving blankets, baby bottles, baby toiletries, pacifiers and infant clothing. With the abundance of donations, the Troop was able to deliver 30 “Baby Bundles” to the Kennett Square Mother and Child Consortium of Chester County.

The Consortium serves local families with newborns who are in need. The Brandywine Valley Girl Scout Service Unit has 50 Girl Scout Troops from both the Kennett and Unionville School Districts. Interested in joining Girl Scouts? Contact Karen D’Agusto at kdagusto@aol.com.
