Settlement Agreement with Parents

The district, through legal counsel, has negotiated a settlement agreement with the parents of a student in order to avoid continued and/or potential disputes or litigation. The agreement will settle any disputed issues of fact and law but does not constitute an admission of fault or liability by either party. The parties have agreed to keep the terms of the agreement confidential.

Proposed IU budget

The Intermediate Unit provides services to school districts; non-public schools; the state, federal and county governments. The section of the school board is being asked to approve the core budget. These services are paid for by all 12 county school districts and can be used by all without restriction. The 2017-18 proposed Core budget is $25.7 million, an increase of $959,085 compared to the 2016-17 Core budget. Kennett School District’s contribution to the Core section budget will be $34,581, the same as the actual contributions to the 2016-17 Core budget.
