UPPER OXFORD State police raided a building on Draper Lane and charged three people for operating a speakeasy on Saturday.
Police said they received complaints of large parties involving illegal alcohol sales at the location, which is on a dead-end street off Baltimore Pike.
Undercover officers were able to enter the location after paying an entrance fee and were able to purchase alcohol inside from bartenders.
The location does not possess a liquor license to sell alcohol and the sales were illegal.
The building was raided at 11:50 p.m. by the Pennsylvania State Police, Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement, troopers from the Avondale station, Troop J Vice Unit members and the state Board of Probation and Parole.
Beer, liquor and $1,052 was confiscated as evidence.
The three arrested face misdemeanor criminal charges of sales of alcohol without a license and criminal conspiracy.
During the investigation, Randy James Lindsey, 25, of Nottingham, was arrested after he was found to have an active arrest warrant for theft charges. In addition to alcohol charges, police said he was also charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.
