New Garden fire damages storage company

NEW GARDEN The Manfredi Cold Storage facility sustained an undetermined amount of damage in a fire that broke out about 3:39 p.m. Thursday.

Avondale Fire Company Chief Steve Cole said the fire started in an acetylene tank and was limited to one room. Others at the fire said there was a lot of smoke.

One person at the fire suffered a minor injury that was treated at the scene.

Cole said the fire was brought under control at 4:03 p.m., and that the cause has not been determined but is under investigation.


The Manfredi Cold Storage company is on Chambers Road in New Garden.
