Ian Wilhelm-McKinley, who’s beginning his first year in baseball, has been named the Kennett and Unionville (KAU) Little League Player of the Week.
A member of the Sinton Heating and Air Conditioning team in the Minor A Division, Wilhelm-McKinley is being recognized “for his attitude, as well as his efforts on the field,” said manager Matt Patterson. “As a first-year player, in a short time he has become an effective pitcher and overall ball player. He is hungry to learn the game, very coachable and applies what he learned during practice in each game. It would be great to have a team of all Ians.”
Wilhelm-McKinley is a 10-year-old fifth-grader who attends Greenwood Elementary School. He is active in chorus and enjoys math. He has played lacrosse and basketball for the Kennett Area Parks and Recreation Board League.
He is the son of Matt Wilhelm and Patrick McKinley of Kennett Township.
