Laura A. Turpin, 98, of Kennett died on May 1 at Brandywine Senior Living at Longwood. She was the wife of the late Harry “Dee” Turpin, who died in 1989. Her funeral will be Saturday, May 11, at 11 a.m., at Kuzo and Grieco in Kennett Square.

Jack Hamby, 74, of Landenberg died on Monday, April 29 at home. He was the son of the late Emmanuel and Ora Phipps Hamby. His funeral was Tuesday, May 7, in West Jefferson, N.C.

Charleen Peirson Toliver, 80, of Cochranville died Monday, April 29, at home. She was the wife of Herbert D. Toliver, with whom she shared 46 years of marriage. Her memorial service was Thursday, May 2, at Kuzo & Grieco in Kennett Square.

James B. White, 72, of West Grove died on Monday, April 29, at Jennersville Regional Hospital. He was the husband of Sarann Dougherty White, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage. Service and burial will be private.

Sherry L. Ranauto, 53, of Bear, Del., died peacefully at home surrounded by family and in the arms of her husband on Sunday, April 28. Her Mass of Christian burial was Friday, May 3, at St. Elizabeth An Seton, Bear.

Donald Poorman, 48, of Rising Sun, Md., formerly of Oxford, died on Friday, April 26, at Jennersville Regional Hospital. He was the son of Sandra Jury Shick of Summerville, Pa., and the late Donald P. Poorman. His funeral was Thursday, May 2, at Oxford Church of the Nazarene.

Walter William Montgomery Sr., 48, of Oxford died on Tuesday, April 30, at Jennersville Regional Hospital. He was the husband of Jackie Deel Montgomery. His funeral was Tuesday, May 7, at Gonce Funeral Service P.A. in Baltimore.

Chester Virtue, 94, of Quarryville died on Thursday, May 2, at the Hospice of Mt. Joy. He was the husband of Hazel Shoemaker Virtue. His funeral was Tuesday, May 7, at Edward Collins Funeral Home in Oxford.

John Peirson, 74, of Peach Bottom, died on Thursday, May 2, at the Hospice of Lancaster County. He was the husband of Kay Lafferty Peirson, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage. His funeral will be Thursday, May 9, at 11 a.m. at Edward L. Collins Funeral Home in Oxford.
