Police Log: Feb. 21, 2013

This dog is missing and the owners are offering a reward for her return.

Kennett Square:

Someone vandalized the passenger side window of a vehicle parked in the 500 block of South Broad Street sometime between Friday, Feb. 1 and Tuesday, Feb 5, police said.

Oscar Morales-Guerrero, 23 of Kennett Square, was arrested for DUI following a traffic accident on Wednesday, Feb 6 at 10:03 p.m. at the intersection of South Walnut and Birch streets, police said.

Someone stole a drivers license from a business located in the 100 block of West Cypress Street on Saturday, Feb. 2 at roughly noon police said.

A 14-year-old male from West Grove, a 15-year-old male from Avondale and a 17-year-old male from Kennett Square were cited for curfew violation on Sunday, Feb. 10 at 1:05 a.m. in the 700 block of Wayne Avenue, police said.

New Garden Township:

David Sampson, 30, of Landenberg, was cited for multiple violations of the Pennsylvania dog law for allowing his dogs to run loose on Feb. 7, 8 and 9, police said. The dogs were aggressive with the public and police, and an incident was captured on video surveillance showing the dogs chasing another dog off its property on Thursday, Feb. 7. That dog is still missing and the owners are offering a reward for her return.

Jennifer Schappert, 40 of Landenberg, was cited for public drunkenness after were called to the 700 block of Newark Road on Jan. 31 at 2049 hours for a report of a female lying in the grass, police said.

Jose Luis Polo-Baez, 23 of Kennett Square, was taken into custody and charged with assault and related offenses following an incident in a vehicle in the 1000 block of Newark Road, police said.

Saul Alverez, 23 of Wilmington was charged with robbery, aggravated assault and related offenses stemming from his involvement in multiple robberies that occurred on Jan. 19 at several locations within the township and surrounding municipalities, police said.

Jesus Lopez-Vasquez, 44, of Kennett Square, was charged with simple assault and related offenses stemming from an incident that occurred on Jan. 29 when Lopez-Vazquez intentionally struck another vehicle with his vehicle multiple times, police said.

Juan Vazquez-Herrera, 23, of Wilmington was charged with DUI following a traffic stop on Feb. 4 in the 1600 block of Baltimore Pike. Vazquez-Herrera was observed swerving over the center line multiple times, police said.

Tammy Johnson, 27, of Kennett Square has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and related offenses following an incident in the 1300 block of Newark Road on Feb. 8, police said.

Paul Roten, 68, of Kennett Square was cited for public drunkenness on Feb. 10 following a report of a subject carrying alcohol in the area of the 700 block of West Cypress Street, police said.

Albert Kucharski, 49 of Wilmington was taken into custody on Feb. 12 and charged with multiple counts of theft and related offenses after Kucharski committed several thefts within the past couple months from numerous businesses totaling over $13,000, police said.

State Police

Jose Pantoja-Gonzalez, 37, of West Grove lost control of his car on a patch of ice, slid off the roadway and hit a tree. The car then rolled over onto its side on Feb. 11 on Rosehill Road in London Grove Township. It is unknown if Pantoja-Gonzalez was injured, police said.

Richard Anthony Dalton, 40, of Elkton, Md., was traveling south on Route 10 at Route 896 in Upper Oxford Township on Feb. 11 in a red truck with a license number that indicated it was stolen. Police initiated a traffic stop, and Dalton was taken into custody.

David Lytle, 43, of Caotesville suffered minor injuries when he lost control of his car and veered off the road into the shoulder and into an embankment on Chatham Road in West Marlborough Township on Feb. 11 at 4:40 a.m.

Joseph Altman, 26, of Kemblesville was allegedly driving while intoxicated on Route 1 at Newark Road in New Garden Township and attempted to flee from police on Feb. 7 at 12:12 a.m., police said.
