Unionville swimmers defeat Rustin at Pink Meet

Unionville Swim Team was host to Rustin at the Kennett Area YMCA on Jan. 19. Unionville dedicated proceeds from the “Pink Meet” and their bake sale this week to Unite for Her. Unite for Her’s mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of women and girls by supporting and providing breast cancer and wellness programs that educate, empower and restore.

Unionville and many area schools are participating in fthis non-profit fund raiser each season with each sports team to raise funds to be used in their own communities.

Unionville girls won the meet 97-71 proving they had a deeper team of contributors and the boys lost to the Rustin boys 66-104. The win by the girls against Rustin is likely to give them the Ches-Mont American Division Title at Seasons End.

Unionville’s Mackenzie Hornibrook was a quadruple winner, swimming on both the winning 200 Medley Relay and the 400 Free Relay and winning both the 50 Freestyle and 100 Fly.

Unionville’s Erin Polries was a double winner in the 500 freestyle and contributed to the 400 Free Relay win. Erin Fife (R)won both her individual events, the 200 Im and 100 freestyle. Unionville’s Victoria Bunting took 2nd in the 200IM, Christinia Tascione second 100 Breast. Unionville’s Laura Barthold was a double winner contributing to both the 200 medley relay and the 200 free relay and had 2 solid second place finishes in the 100 Free and 200 freestyle. Unionville’s Lindsey Hewton was a double winner contributing to the Medley relay win and won the 100 back. Rustin’s Sarah Westley took 2nd in the 50 Free and 100 fly.

Rustin’s Frank Dello Bouno was a triple winner, contributing to the 200 Medley Relay, winning the 200 IM and 500 Free. Unionville’s Chris Barthold won the 200 free and took 2nd in the 500 Free. Rustin’s Tyler Cummings was a triple winner contributing to the medley relay and winning the 50 free and 100 fly. Ben Service was a triple winner contributing to the medley win and winning the 100 free and 100 breast. Rustin’s Brenden Yoo was a double winner swimming on the 200 medley and winning the 100 back. Unionville’s Greg Buckley was on the winning 400 free relay team and took 2nd in both the 200 Im and the 100 Fly. Unionville’s Reid Henzel was on the winning 400 free relay team and took 2nd in the 50 free and 100 free. Ben Halkowski was also on the 400 free relay team and had a 2nd place finish in the 100 back.
