Dr. Joseph J. O’Brien, Executive Director of the Chester County Intermediate Unit, invites the Oxford Area School District community to participate in a Superintendent Search Focus Group on Monday, January 28 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Large Group Instruction Room (Room 180) of Oxford Area High School, 705 Waterway Road, East Nottingham.
The Oxford Area Board of School Directors is in the process of selecting a superintendent of schools to replace Dr. Raymond Fischer, who is retiring at the end of this school year with 37 years of experience in education. The Board is seeking input from school personnel, parents, and the community-at-large through a series of focus groups.
These focus groups will share their experiences and insights into the type of leader that the district will need to successfully educate students for the 21st century.
The goals of the focus groups are to:
•Identify the qualities needed in a superior school leader;
•Identify the strengths and skills essential for the next superintendent to demonstrate;
•Identify key issues facing the district in the next five years that the superintendent will need to address; and,
• Identify the obstacles to student achievement and the strategies the next superintendent will need to employ to overcome those obstacles.
Registration is appreciated but not required. Community members may register online at www.cciu.org/OASDCommFocusGroup.
In case of inclement weather, participants who register will be notified via e-mail and telephone of cancellation.
