EAST NOTTINGHAM -- An early morning fire destroyed at home in the 200 block of Barnsley Road on Tuesday.

According to Oxford Union Fire Company Chief Brian Kelley, the call came in at 12:01 a.m. When the fire company arrived, the house was fully involved in flames.

One elderly resident was slightly injured and taken to the hospital to be checked out, Kelley said.

Responding to the fire were Cochranville, Rising Sun, Robert Fulton and Bart fire companies in addition to Oxford Union. Medic 94 also responded.

Kelley said there was about $80,000 in damage. HE added that there was water sufficient to fight the fire from tankers.

The Chester County Fire Marshal’s office is investigating.
