Armed robbery at Kennett cell phone store

Kennett Square — Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at about 5:15 p.m. on July 3 at a business in the 300 block of Scarlett Road.

Police said a man entered the PCS Metro Cellular store brandishing a handgun that was partially covered with a bandanna before demanding cash from an employee.

The employee responded by giving the robber an undisclosed amount of cash before he fled on foot toward West Cypress Street.

The suspect is described as a black male between 25 and 35 years old, standing between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall with a muscular build. He was last seen wearing a green hat, black t-shirt and black pants.

Police were able to provide a surveillance photograph showing the suspect leaving the store.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information regarding the incident is asked to call the New Garden Police Department at 610-268-3171.
