The typical municipal government matter involves something the neighbors might be aware of, or a neighborhood. Rarely does it set in motion something people around the globe will notice.

But that's what the East Marlborough Township Board of Supervisors did Monday night in issuing a demolition permit for the Main Fountain Garden at Longwood Gardens, for generations a destination for tourists from around the world.

<![CDATA[A milkman returns]]> We acknowledge that the times have changed since the Daily Local News looked around and found itself in the latter stages of the 20th century.

We admit that the Brave New World we now find ourselves in affords us benefits that our friends from the 1950s and 1960s could not have imagined. Every time we turn on or desktop computers - or laptops, or tablets, or smartphones, or what have you - we have access to information and contact with people that would boggle the mind of our enighbors from that golden age.

WEST CHESTER - The game of hide-and-seek that an Oxford area man who had escaped from a halfway house for state prisoners wound up costing the man an extra stint behind bars.

On Thursday, Ronald Scott Dawson appeared before Common Pleas Judge Patrick Carmody to plea guilty to charges of flight to avoid apprehension, stemming from a November incident in which he left the Gaudenzia halfway house in Philadelphia without permission.
