Community invited to see UHS After Prom

The 2002 Honda Civic, which will be given away at the Unionville High School After Prom May 17, is now on display in front of the high school. A community Walk Thru is set for the same day from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. UHS juniors and seniors in attendance until the very end of the After Prom are eligible to win the car, donated by Scott Honda. The After-Prom Community Walk Thru takes place on Saturday, May 17, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. People from the community are invited to come look at the amazing decorations and transformation of the high school. There will see the list of donors and how generous the businesses in the community have been. The community will also have the opportunity to make a donation to the After Prom that evening if they want to help.

We offer the Community Walk Thru as a way of showing everyone what a magical and fun experience the kids will have when they come to the After Prom. For many people with younger children, or who are new to the district, they may hear things or see signs about an ďAfter Prom,Ē but it wasnít until my oldest daughter started high school that I started to realize that the After Prom is a great choice for when the prom ends. And that is it - a choice. The kids donít HAVE to go. So, why donít we as a community start from when they are young (and learning about a fancy dance called prom) get excited about a great night where we know they will be safe?

There will be cute three-minute video clips on Wednesday to Friday morning at all of the schools showing pictures of old after proms and enticing them to come see. So spread the word! Itís a great chance to be one of the first to see the surprise themes!
