Kennett Square business robbed during snowstorm

Kennett Square police are searching for two men who robbed a business at gunpoint Monday, Feb. 3, at the height of a snowstorm.

According to Kennett Square police, two men wearing full-face masks and hoodies entered a business on the 400 block of East South Street, brandishing handguns. Police said one of the men pointed the gun at a clerk, who was preparing to close the business early due to the storm.

There was no dialog, police said. The other suspect picked up the cash register and both suspects ran out of the business and got into a yellow vehicle, which fled the scene.

A yellow vehicle bearing Delaware registration was found a short time later abandoned on Old Kennett Road west of Bayard Road by the State Police.

The vehicle was registered to an address in Wilmington, De. Through the initial investigation, police were told the vehicle was stolen.

One suspect is described as standing 5 feet, six inches with a thin build, the other, 5 feet, eight inches tall with a medium build. Both were wearing dark clothing.
